Corporate Culture Benefits That Are Family-Friendly

Here are a few ideas for corporations and organizations that are considering adding non-traditional benefits to their culture for both employees and their families. Employees expect the basics (dental, health, PTO, etc.), but add-ons can help your company stand out against the competition when it comes to recruiting top talent.

Work from Home

Allow your employees the opportunity to work at home a couple days each month. Everyone needs the chance to catch up on work that calls for zero interruptions from co-workers (our employees who take advantage of this report how productive they feel in checking off their to-do list), and may even allow them to catch lunch with their spouse and kids. Plus, a change of pace is nice and your employees feel trusted.

Lend a Helping Hand

For coworkers and their families who experience tough times while working for your corporation, acting as a corporate support system can be life changing. Our company has a program called CLEARLINK Family Projects through which we’re committed to providing both financial and physical help to our CLEARLINK family members. Last quarter, we helped a family save money and time moving to a new home by paying for a U-Haul and renovation supplies and putting together a group of fellow co-workers to volunteer. Sharing the love makes employees feel cared for and doesn’t have to cost a lot.

Offer Discounts to Amusement and Water Parks

Let’s face it: taking even a small family for a day at the amusement park can really break the monthly budget. Companies can work with local parks to negotiate corporate rates, covering part of the cost for your employees. Not only does it save your employees money, but it gets them out into the community experiencing something fun as a family. We’re all about relationships here!

Family-Friendly Parties and Festivals

Not all corporate parties need to be adults-only! Host an annual or bi-annual event catered to families. It’s always interesting and fun to get to know the spouses and kids of your co-workers. We hold a summer party for families every year and offer free family pictures for anyone who attends—another cost saving service that doesn’t cost us much but saves our employees from paying retail price for the annual family photo.

Pick-Up the Cleaning Tab

Give your employees the gift of more time—the resource in shortest supply! Pay for a professional cleaning service to clean the homes of your most dedicated, busy employees. Gone are the days when work stayed at the office and 1am emails were shocking. Our employees go above and beyond, putting in hours and creating value for us way past the 9-5 block. We want to give them back some of that time by saving it on cleaning! This benefit hasn’t been rolled out, but it’s something we’re looking into.
