How We Recognize a Job Well Done

A major driver of Clearlink’s culture is how our people genuinely live our company value of Create Community. One way we exemplify this value is by celebrating those that do great things. That recognition comes in many different forms from many different groups. Here are a few ways we show we are grateful.

Team/Department Meetings

While everyone is working toward the same big picture goals, each department has its own culture. That makes getting recognized within that group especially meaningful. Meeting as a team/department is the perfect opportunity to celebrate those that are going above and beyond. In these meetings, leaders often highlight those they see making an impact and share the importance of those efforts with the group. Just as importantly, they open the floor to everyone to shoutout their colleagues that are doing great things. This way, they shine a light on people that are doing great work but may not have a lot of visibility around how their efforts contribute to the bigger picture.

Slack Shoutouts

Slack has really become our digital headquarters as we’ve adjusted to a work-from-home model in the wake of COVID-19. One of the surprise benefits of this digital shift has been the expanded visibility and participation of cross-functional groups within the organization. Many teams have a dedicated day of the week for shoutouts within their channel; this is a simple but impactful way our employees shine a light on the work of their colleagues, which both show gratitude and give others a clearer understanding of the work our team members do every day. Our favorite part? A weekly showcase for our ever-expanding arsenal of custom emojis and gifs. 


On the sales side of our business, top-performers earn their way into our Prime program. The better a sales agent performs, the higher their odds of winning some amazing prizes, such as tropical vacations, cars, TVs, gaming consoles, and many other awesome rewards. 

Buttons of Praise/Employee of the Month Championship Belt

Our Marketing Services division has some fun when celebrating the work of their fellow colleagues. They created a pro-wresting-style championship belt — gold plated and all — that is awarded to the employee of the month. It is also customary for the new winner to make a hype video celebrating the win. The highlight of every month is the reveal of custom “buttons of praise,” featuring such favorites as the “Forrest Gump Running the Extra Mile” button, the “Simon and Garfunkel Award for Great Duos” button, and the “Queen Elizabeth Award for Correlation Does Not Equal Causation” button.

And the Ultimate Recognition: Trip of a Lifetime 

And last but definitely not least, our favorite recognition: Trip of a Lifetime. Every year, top performers from each department are nominated by both their peers and leaders for the employee of the year. Every person nominated is guaranteed a spot in the Employee Impact Award trip, where the group of winners and their plus ones are treated to a week in a tropical paradise such as Hawaii, Mexico, or Jamaica. The person from each department that is chosen from the group as the overall winner gets to pick anywhere in the world to visit and Clearlink makes it happen. Some notable destinations have included the Philippines, Japan, Zimbabwe, New Zealand, and many other unforgettable places.
