B2B Content Strategist – Performance Marketing, Salt Lake City

That might sound like a cliché, but in the competitive world of digital marketing, it’s also true. And no content marketing effort can succeed without a solid strategy. 
Particularly when it comes to helping businesses (think restaurants, retail chains, and startups) attract and retain new customers.
As a Content Strategist at Clearlink, you’ll use your passion, experience, and tactical knowledge to connect our brand partners with small-business owners and top-level CEOs. You’ll collaborate with designers, copywriters, SEO experts, and PPC specialists to elevate the user experience across digital channels—including websites, emails, blogs, and social networks. You’ll also work closely with leadership to analyze data, identify content goals, and lead efforts to boost awareness, site visits, and (ultimately) revenue.
Breaking Down Your Day-to-Day

  • Build and execute digital content strategy to drive impressions, increase click through rate, and decrease cost per acquisition.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including marketing manager, channel specialists and leads, and partner strategy to determine opportunities.
  • Ideate within brand guidelines and maintain awareness of brand initiatives, compliance, and other areas of opportunity.
  • Develop and introduce project scopes and low-fidelity wireframes.
  • Create mid-fidelity prototypes for interactive tools and online shopping carts.
  • Audit brand sites for gaps in strategy.
  • Conduct regular benchmarking across competitors and across verticals to understand trends and additional opportunities.
  • Test various headlines, images, and CTAs to boost engagement and conversions.
  • Evaluate and identify target customer segments.
  • Develop concrete buyer personas.
  • Plan and execute ROI-positive content programs at scale.
  • Monitor and analyze user journey by channel using Google Analytics, Mouseflow, etc.
  • Evaluate messaging and pathways to maximize performance.
  • Manage a content calendar based on strategic goals, business priorities, product launches, and other events.
  • Implement best practices for content creation, reuse, and optimization.
  • Understand the dynamics of the digital marketing ecosystem and extract key trends, topics, and content themes that will help us engage our target audience.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the CMS to ensure continuous productivity.

What You Need

  • 3–5 years’ experience as a Content Strategist or similar role.
  • Clear track record of defining and executing highly effective B2B content marketing campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of B2B buyer behaviors.
  • Metrics-driven mindset, with a relentless focus on increasing site visits, search rankings and ROI. 
  • Develop and introduce project scopes and low-fidelity wireframes.
  • Experience with developing KPIs, dashboards, and benchmark reports to measure content engagement success.
  • Proven ability to translate brand personality and product capabilities into content assets that engage customers and increase lead generation/conversion rates.
  • Excellent storytelling abilities, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative instincts with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels.
  • Portfolio of proven work samples.
